Why Give?

One of the most commonly overlooked motivations for giving, according to the "fundraising experts," is the joy that the giving brings the giver. So many people forget that it is just plain, old-fashioned fun to be generous. The best part is that this is not just a secular fundraising concept, it is a Biblical one, too. II Corinthians 9:7 says, "God loves a cheerful giver."

We pray that you give with joy. Each gift we receive, regardless of size, allows the Dayton Christian School System to extend its impact. Each gift allows our faculty and staff to continue to minister in the lives of hundreds of children and their families. The Dayton Christian School System has needs because it meets needs.

multi-generational-familyYour gift will also transfers joy to others. We recently received a letter from a family with three children who attend DCSS. The father lost his job shortly before school let out in the spring, and there was no way that they were going to have the financial wherewithal to continue at DCSS in the fall. Only through the incredible generosity of our donors were the children able to continue. Their parents' joy is indescribable. The family's letter concluded with a message to donors, "We have seen God work, and our faith has grown. Thank you for your part in God's provision. May God bless you for your sacrifice."

Luke 6:38 promises, "Give, and it will be given to you." We pray that you have been given joy!
